Room 6 Term 2 Update

We are almost halfway through the term and have been busy with our learning. Last week Thursday was our wonderful Te Tuhi art gallery trip and we thoroughly enjoyed learning how to create the colour wheel. Miss Bree was impressed with how we managed to mix several colours together, how awesome! Thank you to our lovely whanau for supporting us on the trip, we appreciate you. In maths we improved our knowledge on place value and will slowly make our way to learning geometry. We are also excited to start our 3D art project based on the human skeleton. In Cybersmart, we looked at creating images that included diagraphs which ties in with our structured literacy. Keep up the great mahi, room 6. We also celebrated our hardworking support staff who help us with our learning and various duties around the school. We are grateful for you all! We look forward to celebrating Samoan Language Week in a couple of weeks. How exciting.

Busy Learning and Creating!

The akonga in Room 27 have been busy welcoming new friends into our classroom.

This week, they created beautiful flowers for the special wāhine in their lives using pipe cleaners. This activity encouraged great concentration and helped strengthen their fine motor skills. The children were also excited to surprise their loved ones with thoughtful handmade Mother’s Day cards.

Alongside this, the akonga have been exploring maths through Numicons and practising their photography skills using iPads. It has been a fun-filled week of creativity, learning, and new experiences in Room 27.
