Culture Identity – Wananga.

For my cultural identity, my process work was about a traditional saying which is mentioned almost every day for when we would get separated from our families.

At the start of my project process, I started to work on my identity first to get a vision of what I should do. I used drawing to express my work. When I finished with my identity drawing I kind of got a vision and started to share and talk to many students of the same culture and they gave lots of ideas which gave me an understanding.

After I got some ideas I had an amazing idea of how I came to New Zealand my family had a gathering to see us off and our whole family did a speech and one of the most important heads of the family stood up and said something that set tears to our family. He stood up and said

´No matter how the birds fly everywhere they always come together and meet again.

I couldn’t find the Samoan saying but I was really proud of my project and my process.
