Foreign accent syndrome is a condition where you’re way of speaking changes entirely with a whole other accent different from your native accent.
For many years this condition has been a total mystery to doctors and scientists, it’s a really rare condition so rare that there are only 100 recorded cases about the condition and even how it occurs is a mystery but some speculate that the way it occurs is through psychological and neural damage to the brain but even with that we still don’t know how it even works and how it actually happens, for example, 29-year-old Angi who is one of the rare people who had this syndrome got it at 29 of April ten days after where her tonsils got removed and we still can’t find a way on how it was connected with her tonsils being removed but there are some experiment and testing on how this health condition appears.
There are no real advantages to this condition people who have it don’t seem to have happy faces when they get this condition and this proves that it can impact our mental health and makes it hard for the person with this condition to even interact with their loved ones like family and friends and them hearing this new accent can throw them off and may change how they look at the person but and there are actually therapy to help deal with this condition.
