The Wananga

Last week we were making a tukutuku panel. We used a board, flax and tape. I thought it would have been easy but no it was really hard. I thought that I could finish it in 30 minutes or less. 

One thing I learnt was how to make tukutuku panels, which are decorative wall panels that were once part of the traditional wall construction used inside meeting houses.. It was really hard so I asked for help and we almost finished. My cousin told me to do the rest. It got easier. I was half way there and I almost finished it. 

One thing I could do better next time is try to do it by myself. I learnt how to do it but when I was really stuck I asked for help. Have you ever made a tukutuku panel?
