Nowadays, the majority of people are glued to their technology and sometimes can be isolated in their own homes. For eg; they could watch, game and stay home all day. This shows somewhat of the accurate representation of the society going on from the Pedestrian story.  Other than that, there is also a majority of other people in our society who appreciates nature/outdoors, goes outside often to either hangout with friends/family, going to gym, travelling, school etc. People like this actually show their love for other things other than just technology and staying at home.
