would you want a library at your school?
flamingoes
in class we did another fact of the day and I think this was probably my favourite one so far. It’s about flamingoes. Hope u like it. Do u like flamingoes?
Response To The Quote
“I have not always chosen the safest path. I’ve made my mistakes, plenty of them. I sometimes jump too soon and fail to appreciate the consequences. But I’ve learned something important along the way: I’ve learned to heed the call of my heart. I’ve learned that the safest path is not always the best path and I’ve learned that the voice of fear is not always to be trusted.”
― Steve Goodier
Write what you think it means and how you have experienced this in your own life. This could be at school, at home or with something that you do out of school.
I think that the quote that Steve wrote is about trusting your gut.
A challenge for me was when I was six and I went for a bike ride in Punakiki. We biked up the track until we got to the part where there were no railings and it was just the side of a cliff. We had to get off of our bikes and walk and it was a real challenge for me because it was really scary. I think that people are capable of sticking to something and trying again. When I was on the side of the cliff there were so many of us that we didn’t know if we were going to be able to make it across to the other side.
I learnt that sometimes you have to take a risk and overcome your fear. We get the confidence to try again when we have another opportunity and grow in courage.

Over two weeks of the holidays me and Mason did twenty outdoor activities. I found these challenging, but fun. Me and Mason found so many worms when we dug a hole. The reason that was so hard, is because there were massive rocks in the hole. After that we tried to make paper planes. I tried but I couldn’t. It was very hard because the instructions were tricky. Then me and the Mason did some face painting. This was even more of a challenge he wouldn’t stay still. It tickled so bad I couldn’t stay still either. But then when it was done we went and laid on the grass and then read more of our books. That wasn’t a challenge but it was relaxing. My next job was to plant my strawberries. Next on the list went and kicked a ball for around two minutes. It started to rain so we ran home and opened our mouths and drank some rain. After my dinner I ran to Mason’s. and we played around. We stayed up late and looked for some stars and we played spotlight. It was hard to find Mason, and if I walked past him he would jumpscare me!
I learnt that doing it with my friends can be a challenge because we both couldn’t decide what to do next. But together we found our way and had so much fun. Everything is better with your mates!
Maths week 2 term 2
Hey bloggers today I got another Maths blog but ya’ll know what I am going to say soooooooo bye bye.

TITLE: ACIDS AND BASES
An acid is corrosive, eg lemon. A base cleans something. eg soap.
Acid ph level is below 7 base ph level is above 7.
I put acid in with metal, and it melted the metal into hydrogen gas then
Bubbles formed, and if you put a piece of wood split open with fire then it would make a pop sound to test if it had any gases.
It’s hard to understand some things in science e.g. periodic table and atoms, balancing chemical equation.

ACIDS AND BASES – SCIENCE
Acids and bases are chemical opposites that form ions in water. An acid is a substance that releases hydrogen ions in water, yielding a sour taste, a pH less than 7, and the ability to turn blue litmus paper red. Acids neutralize bases to form salts and can act as proton donors, often causing corrosion or burning in concentrated forms. Common examples include citric acid and vinegar. In chemistry, a base is a substance that can accept hydrogen ions 2 or, more generally, donate a pair of valence electrons. Bases typically have a pH greater than 7, taste bitter, feel slippery, and neutralize acids to form water and salts. Common examples include sodium hydroxide (OH-), soap, and antacids.
T2 Social studies reflection (week 2)
This week we learned about communicable and non communicable diseases and how to create and explain graphs and charts.

Blog post weekly social studies entry
Hello everyone, today we took a look at types of graphs and how to analyse and how read them to find out the trend, and pattern of the graph and the information they are displaying. We had to make our own graph about the Christchurch Population throughout the years and heres is what mine looks like
Thanks baibai
Muscles
Hello bloggers in today’s science we are learning about science.
We are gonna explain how to perform a handshake.
First step we have to extend our right handful vertically, connect web to web, and use your forearm muscles to shake two three times while engaging your grip strength.
The biceps and forearm contract to close fingers, while the thenar muscles contract for a firm grip. The flexor muscles relax, and the extrensor digitorum muscles on the back of the forearm contract to open the hand.
Interpreting Graphs – Social Studies 2026
Today we looked at different charts: Pie charts, Bar graphs, and Line graphs. We are also learning about diseases, and these charts are all about diseases.

Acids And Bases.
Acids And Bases
In science, I learnt that acids are a group of chemical substances defined by their ability to donate hydrogen ions when dissolved in water. They are characterized by a sour taste and the ability to turn blue litmus paper red. On the pH scale, acids always have a value ranging from 0 to just under 7, with lower numbers meaning stronger acidity. Common everyday examples include citric acid in lemons and some type of acid in vinegar. When acids react with bases, they undergo a neutralization process that typically produces water and a salt. Bases are substances that accept hydrogen ions or release hydroxide in water. They are characterized by a bitter taste, a slippery feel, and the ability to turn red litmus paper blue. On the pH scale, bases range from above 7 to 14, and they react with acids to form water and salt through neutralization. Common examples include baking soda, soap, and bleach.
We did a test for hydrogen gas experiment where we mixed magnesium metal and hcl and once enough pressure had built up, bring the lit match to the mouth of the test tube and quickly uncover and the gas quickly comes out blowing out the match with a pop sound depending on the pressure that had built up.It was pretty easy with what we had to do even though my group just looked around, it was fine working on my own tho, it was fun and easy going.
In the future I think it would be cool to work more solo when doing experiments.
I think the most challenging thing about science is understanding what I am doing without getting help from my friends and classmates.

FACT OF THE DAY – komodo dragons
Hi everyone for this blog I have made a slideshow about komodo dragons. When I was getting facts it was a little bit challenging but I still did it. when I found out the last fact (Wich I put on the slide) It was so crazy by the way do not go there because you will get bitten and then you will die.

Explaining To An Alien How To Do A Handshake
Hello readers! In science today we were learning about muscles and how they contract and relax to make us move. In this blog, I explain how to do a handshake step-by-step by saying what muscles to contract or relax.
How to do a handshake:
- Contract your bicep while relaxing your tricep in the arm that is opposite to the one the other person is holding up.
- Contract your extensor muscles to open your hand.
- Relax your extensor muscles and contract your flexor muscles to close your hand around the other person’s hand.
- Contract your bicep.
- Contract your tricep.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5
- Contract your extensor muscles.
- Contract your tricep.
- YOU HAVE PREFORMED A HANDSHAKE!!!

How to Handshake
Dear aliens, today i’m writing a step by step guide on how to properly perform a handshake in a polite manner.
Step 1: The Reach
Extend your hand out toward the person you are shaking hands with, but not to a point where you are touching their chest.
Step 2: The Grip
When they reach their hand over to yours, grasp their hand with a slight grip, making sure you are not gripping their hand to hard.
Step 3: The Shake
Now it’s time for the shake. Carefully move each others hand in a swift motion, finally creating a handshake.
Odd Facts About Catfish
Hi everyone its me Amber. today In reading we had to make a post of some odd Facts about one type of fish we read about and I picked a catfish did you now that catfish don’t have scales. I know right I thought they did have scales but they didn’t what fish do you think is the most weirdest one and why? bye guys see you next time.
