Something I learnt about Refugees

This week we read a story called, My name is Rez. Rez was a refugee that left Kurdistan to go to New Zealand with her family. They were forced to flee Kurdistan because there was a lot of fighting.  She stayed at a camp before leaving to go to New Zealand. When Rez got to New Zealand she was pretty scared because she didn’t know any of the languages in New Zealand. She got put into a school to learn and she learnt one sentence and got bullied. She then made a friend, played netball and was happy. She then became a lawyer. We learnt about displacement. Displacement means something that has been moved from its original place. Statelessness means a person who is not recognised by the state.
