My haiku poem about Frogs:
Secret silent lives
Ancient frogs that never croak
Shadows by the creek.
This term we were learning about Pepeketua which means Frogs in Te reo Maori. I learned that there are three frogs that only live in New Zealand. They are Archey’s Frogs, Hochstetter Frogs and Hamilton’s Frogs. The Hochstetter frog is so tiny, only the size of a thumb. It lives in damp, dark places and the frog lets ride on the dad’s back when they hatch.
