Task Description: During the past week me and my class have been discovering more about the world of poetry. Our teacher shared with us the poem of Kubla kahn which I soon found out was inappropriate while listening to it. As for me and my class we have been focused on the 2 types of poetry known as ”haiku” and ”cinquain”. These 2 poems weren’t too difficult though I was quite frustrated at cinquain. This is due to the fact that cinquain has a specific syllable count, word count and tells you what to put on each line, eg. verbs, adjectives. I in fact enjoyed doing my freestyle poems as I wasn’t required to follow any rules or requirements of any sort.
Our options were to do a revolting rhyme, a freestyle poem, a cinquain poem or a haiku. I was utterly flabbergasted at the flow and rhymes of revolting rhymes, despite the fact that I didn’t write one. In the future I may attempt to write a a revolting rhyme though I will have a few troubles staying on topic.
In Conclusion, I heavily enjoy poetry including the process of creating poetry. I anticipate writing more of poetry or freestyle pieces in my free time in the future. The pieces I have written are listed below.
