Before the end of the term we had our biannual Matariki Market Day. We started planning and preparing well in advance. It was important for our learners to have some input into our class market and what that was going to look like. Ownership was on students to get into groups and decide what they were to create or make (or bring) to sell at our school market day. Learners brainstormed ideas, talked with their peers, asked questions to see what the consumer (other students) would be interested in buying. Once decided, they got busy planning, some making and preparing and creating posters.
We’d like to thank everyone that came to our market to buy something. All proceeds go to our class. We haven’t quite decided what we’re going to do with all the money we made but we are very excited! Watch this space to see what we do.
