Last week on Friday, we had a new STEM/STEAM challenge, to make a rocket ship out of a straw, paper and tape. It was fun in my own opinion, suited for people who likes having fun and are very competitive every time.
Firstly, we had to follow centimeters on the ruler, grab a pencil and mark it vertically up to 12 centimeters and cut the line. To make the base, wrap the paper around the straw but not too tight since it also needs space to fit in and launch at the end. Tape the sides and you’re done! Second, you gotta cut three small right triangles in 3 centimeters and glue / tape them to each side of the long base. To cover the top, cut up a small circle and make a small triangle in the side and wrap it around each other ex: grab the right side and pull it to the left side and do the same to the other.
Honestly, it was fun but I got stuck on the top covering part because I couldn’t finish it in time and I think I gave up half way.. maybe? Overall it was interesting to do and good for small activities to do in class.
