After we set up our fencing to block off the area from other students passing by going to class, we got to work. we demolished the deck that was originally there carefully and we removed every nail from every piece of timber that remained from the deck, it was a bit tricky to pull the nails out because they were rusty for the amount of time that it was sitting, we used many strategies to pull the out, we hit the nail from the pointy side but the nail kept breaking so we used our nail nips and bent and rolled them over which I found easier.
After doing all the easy work we had to get down to our hands and knees and dig out the concrete post from the ground. It was a pretty hard job to do but after whipping out the jack hammer drill we got it done in the end.
I learnt how to operate a jack hammer drill properly and learnt that if you put lots of hole in the concrete it weakens it and makes it easy to break up.
