Today was Nevaeh’s last session with Sam and Jackie before the holidays. We’re continuing to work on engaging Nevaeh with her iPad talker, VocaChat, and today she showed some interest during the first half of the session.
Sam and Jackie introduced Nevaeh to some new objects and games, and focused on key words we repeated on her talker alongside the activities they were completing together. Nevaeh was all smiles and really seems to have warmed to Jackie, which has been lovely to see. It’s fantastic to have Jackie on the team.
We finished the session with Nevaeh serenading Sam and Jackie on the piano. With Amy accompanying her on guitar, Nevaeh showed off her listening and collaborating skills with a rendition of Mary Had a Little Lamb.
We’re looking forward to more sessions in Term 4, when we’ll increase Nevaeh’s physio to include RDA and pool sessions with Sam, while continuing to explore speech and language pathways with Jackie.
