   1. Psilocybin, or “Magic Mushrooms”, are natural drugs that cause hallucinogenic effects. They affect all the senses, alter one’s thinking, and affect their sense of time and emotion. They look like ordinary poisonous mushrooms, but some are given as dried material in capsules.

1. How is it used?
   1. Magic Mushrooms are usually consumed on its own, but some brew it in tea or take it as a capsule.
2. What influences adolescents/teenagers to use drugs and why?
   1. Adolescents/teenagers are usually influenced to use drugs because of their need to cope with stress, or due to peer pressure, or the need to maintain a “cool” reputation. Some might just try it out of curiosity, which leads to addiction.
3.  Explain the positives and negatives associated with the use of this drug?

Negative effects from taking this drug:

• Hallucinations (short term effect)
• Detachment from reality or self (short term effect)
• Increased respiration, temperature, and blood pressure (long term effect)
• Tremors (long term effect)
• Nausea (short term effect)

Positive effects from taking this drug:

• Elevated mood (short term effect)
• Temporary relief (short term effect)
• Helps lessen other addictions (in some cases) (long term effect)

8. What are the laws or restrictions of your chosen drug and what are the penalties? 
   1. 8. Magic Mushrooms are a class A controlled drug. Permitted strictly for treatment-resistant depression under special approval from supervised clinical settings. Possession or use bring you up to 6 months imprisonment and or a fine. Supplying or manufacturing is up to life imprisonment.
9. Explain what strategies you would suggest to a person between the ages of 13-18 about things that they could do to keep themselves safe around your chosen drug?
