kio ara today I am going to share about my Tadeo Jones story. this story is based on a archaeologist that discovers about the ancient pyramids and Cleopatra.

I was in Cairo in 1920 on a boat to the Egyptian ancient pyramids. It took me 15 hours but I did not give up. My hands were so tired and they were trembling from paddling. At midnight dark I did not stop until morning. I was a few hours away. I used a compass and a map. Then I finally arrived.
I walked looking at the very ancient pyramids and then I saw the passageway creakkkk…I entered the tomb. through the tomb I tripped bang!..but nothing was there. When I tripped my head banged as loud as a balloon popping. My head was hurting but I ignored it. Anyways I walked in.. I took out my lamp because it was so dark.
I saw the CLEOPATRA statue. She was the final leader of Egypt. She is like a brilliant leader .I grabbed my book and opened the page of Cleopatra. I saw a coin slot but I did not bring any money. So I just grabbed a knife from my backpack and tried opening it up. And it worked. The cleo patra statue went upwards and led me down a passageway. Should I go in or not?
I walked in the passageway as slow as a turtle. There was a switch on the wall so I pressed the switch and the lights turned on. So I threw my lamp on the floor , I kept walking and walking until I bumped into a lever. I started rotating the lever. There were so many coins and treasure I tried grabbing the treasure but I could not reach it. So I stretched as far as I could until.. A baby mummy started trying to get my gold statue.
The baby started touching it but then I snatched it from him and then the dad came out. I bumped into him but he fell. So i quickly ran but the baby pressed a button Click! And there were big blocks coming from the ground. I fell but then the baby got it again but I snatched it off him again. Then he pressed another button which so many bees|mosquitos came out. I kept running and then I ended up on the edge of a cliff with lava underneath…
I opened my book and I followed the instructions. I stepped over the cliff then a thud came. There were blocks and then a pathway with a mini shop. I looked behind me and then both of the mummies were there. I ran really fast and then I got on this train. There were so many people looking at me.
Then I arrived at an amusement park and they started fixing my clothes and taking pictures I forgot about . And all along the statue was chocolate so i ate chocolate and it was and crumbly like chips

Hi guys for calender art this year we got a choice of four different options I choose close up fruit art. I’m really proud of mine. I chose a grapefruit. first we had to sketch out the fruit base then we had to blend colours to make the right colours and then we did the background and then we had to blog it. what is your favorite fruit?

End of Term update
Hello and welcome to my end of term update. This term has been good and fun. My favorite thing to do this term was to do the winter tournament. In the winter tournament we didn’t do well but it was lots of fun. My Dad was the coach in the winter tournament for football. This term I also got a bit better at nitro type. Nitro Type is a fun game that involves typing. My highest speed in nitro type is seventy seven and my average is fifty six. At the end of the term we will be be getting hot dogs and then we will get the holidays.

Hello, I will tell you about my favourite part of term 3. My favourite part about term 3 was when my football team beat a team that was disrespecting us and we were saying to them that maybe they should focus on goalkeeping Instead of letting in 20 goals a game. Another great part of term three was my birthday. I got to go to McDonalds and I watched a movie called forgotten island which was a really cool and funny movie. Term three had lots to offer so I wonder what term four has in store for us. I might post in the holidays but if not, have a nice holiday and see you in term four.

I have being learning about drawing and mixing it together to make a perfect colour.My favourite part is doing the oil crayons the hard part is drawing the fruit because you have to do it so lightly.

Voltage is the electrical push and the difference in potential energy between two points, acting like pressure. It is measured in volts (V). While current is the number of electrons flowing past a specific point. It is measured in amps (A).

3. Explain why the bulbs in your parallel circuit are brighter/dimmer than bulbs placed in series. Refer to how both voltage and current behave in your answer!
In a series circuit, lightbulbs receive voltage from the power source in their pathways, except the current doesn’t divide. That is because electrons only have one pathway to flow through.
In parallel circuits, lightbulbs are receiving voltage from the same power source, but they have their own different branches. The more lightbulbs in each loop the dimmer it gets, because they share the same power source, and each individual lightbulb must add up to the exact same voltage of the power source. Unlike current, electrons divide when it goes to a different conducting pathway. The electrons add up, once they meet again.

Today we did a poster about recycling.
Firstly in the morning, we had to watch a slideshow about recycling,
Then we had to watch a video about how they recycle stuff in work after they get the bins.
And then another video of how we can take care and make good soil.
Then our teacher asked us to make a poster in groups of three, I went with Paeroa and Iraia, they both are my friends.
We searched how to take care of the earth poster and it came up with a earth in the middle,and things to take care of it.
Because it was about recycling we had to use boxes and pen when we finished it looked like this.
Netball Helping
Netball Helping:
Every day is about 2 hours because it is an hour each year group and I did it for 5 weeks so that equals 10 hours.
Every Friday a group of us help at a netball programme with little kids. We normally have two groups of kids. There is a 1 – 2 year group and a 3 – 4 year group.
Each day Mrs Newton would split the kids into two groups and about 3 helpers would go with one group. Normally we would all go on a line and play a game called rats and rabbits and how that would work is we are all on a line and Mrs Newton would call rats or rabbits and if she called your name you had to run to another line behind you, but if you got tagged by the other team you had to switch teams to the opposite team you were in.
After the rats and rabbits game the teams would come back together and we would all do some fitness games so we would all go on a line and run really fast then we would skip to the other line and back then we would do some squats and lunges. After that we would all get a ball and a pair then Mrs Newton would say we were going to do some passes, then when you picked your partner we would do chest passes, shoulder passes, over the head passes, then we would do bounce passes.
When we finished doing the passes drill we would do netball knockout, so we would have to be split into teams again and one team would be shooting and the other team would be running around a quarter of the court so if the team that’s shooting misses the person runs to the end of the court to win for their team.
After all the games and drills it would be finished and after the 5 weeks of doing the netball helping Mrs Newton gave us a swimming pool voucher and a few pieces of chocolate.

For the past two terms I have been going down to the Westland Recreation Centre to referee year 3-4 (first term) and 5-6 (second term) basketball. I referee two games a day!
I don’t really know how I got into reffing in the first place. Last year I refereed year 3-4 which was insanely easy because you don’t really have to do much. In mini-ball it’s half the court and you have to be quite loose with the rules because they’re only just starting.
When you referee year 5-6 you play to the normal rules… but you loosen up a bit. The most popular mistakes are travel, double dribbling and one that even I do quite a bit… fouls. Depending on the skill level of the teams I am reffing and the point deficit I called over half-way. This can happen on two occasions, when a team dribbles back over half way when they already have or when someone is throwing the ball in on one side of the half-way mark and they throw it the opposite way.
I have learnt many skills such as how to stick up for myself and how to tell if people are lying… because that happens quite often. If you are under the age of 19 on the West Coast you have to wear a mouthguard… and these kids are real rough. There’s elbowing, pushing and sometimes even kicking and punching! I may be someone who gets fouled off but these kids are on a different level!
I personally believe that refing with a variety of different people has exploded my skill level and respect for referees. Even when one team is up by 30 if the winning team gets a call that they don’t agree with… there will be some complaining. I am insanely grateful for referees now and can now relate to them on a level that I wouldn’t have been able to before.
Overall I really enjoyed my time refereeing and believe that I will be back next year… maybe to even ref year 7-8!
