The Soccer Tournament

On Tuesday Mr To`oala put together a soccer team to play in a tournament. There were four teams : Boys B and Boys A Girls B Girls A . All the teams left to play but I was in Boys A and we had to wait because our first game started at ten twenty but we  arrived at nine twenty. In the morning I felt nervous to play but also excited at the same time.

We were just practicing until the first game started and the game was really really tough . But even though we lost it is not always about winning. I felt good playing the game with the team it was really fun and tiring.

About gravity

On Monday 12th of may kea did a learning experiment about the water cycle.  In the second blok miss Kelly put a video about the water cycle .

I learnt that Evaporation is when the sun goose on some water like the ocean or a puddle and turns into tiny water droplets called water vapour condensation  is when the water vapour comes  together. In the sky it makes clouds. Lest jump  in  precipitation is when the clouds get too heavy then it rains if it really could snow- hall comes out the cloud. After that we did our own experiment to slow evaporation. And miss said pick your buddy was andy i got the snaplock bag a vivid andy drew on the bag

Week 2

On tuesday Kea did an experiment. First we sat in the fale we watched a video about seeds and how to plant them. Then we lined up outside. Then we went to the front of the school and then Miss gave us masks and forks. We had to write the seeds on a stick then we had to put our mask on for the soil for no germs. Then we put a little bit of soil inside then we poked a hole then we put the seed inside then we covered it then we went to go water it. Then we went upstairs and we were writing about seeds growing.

eek 1 Gravity

On Tuesday 29th April Kea learnt about gravity and we went to our group and Miss Ocea showed us a video of gravity. They dropped a feather with the bowling ball and they took out the air in a vacuum. They dropped both items at the same time and the feather came down faster than the bowling ball.

Then we went to our group and then we were doing gravity and my buddy was Whenua and Cephas. We were dropping cloths, bottles, wooden sticks. Cephas almost fell off the chair. We had gravity and we couldn’t suck the air out of Waka Tahi to make a vacuum.

Week 3 Water cycle

On Monday we watched a video about the water cycle. The water cycle is when rain fell on a mountain. Then the rain goes down the mountain to the sea. Then we sun takes water vapour to make more clouds. We did the experiment and we represented a water cycle with a bag and water and food colouring. And then we had to draw the mountain and the sun and the water on the bag. Then we put water inside the bag and we put food colouring and then we shook it and then we taped it on the window.

Planets – Week 4

On monday kea learnt about the sun and more planets. We watched a video. I learnt that the sun stays still. The Earth goes around the sun in 365 days or 1 year. The moon takes one month to go around the Earth. The sun is 150,000 kilometers away. The sun is 15 million degrees Celsius. The kids were spinning around the class pretending to be planets.

All About Me Widget

  1. In cybersmart, Whea Ocea explained and gave us a lesson on how to make an About Me Widget. Firstly she gave us an example of whats good and whats bad to share online.

What is good

  1. Share name. (First name)
  2. Share hobbies.
  3. Share what country you came from.

Whats not good

  1. Sharing personal information about anyone including yourself
  2. Sharing your address.
  3. Sharing your rude comments on somebody’s post

Here is the About Me Widget I made!

I hope you like it!

The Planet System

Planet System
Do you ever wonder how we don´t fall off when the Earth spins? It’s because the invisible forces of gravity pull us down. This is why we stand, drive, run or do anything.

If you ever tried to look at the sun directly, you could die or be blinded. This is because the sun is 15 million degrees celsius.

All the planets orbit the Sun, the Moon is not considered a planet. That is because the Moon only revolves around Earth instead of the Sun.

The Sun doesn’t move because it’s not a planet. It’s known as a big star. The Earth takes 365 ¼ days to orbit the sun.

So now you know what we learned. I will now tell you about our experiment. I was in Whea Kelly’s group. Whea Kelly had to pick different people who could be a different planet or the sun.

Whea Kelly chose Jordan to be the sun. He took the chair and placed it in the middle. Then he sat on it and sat still, demonstrating how the sun doesn’t move.

The next planet was Mercury and she chose me and Katalina, but the plot twist is, instead of going fast we had to go slow due to the slowness of Mercury. Mercury is the first planet closest to the sun.

Then, she chose the rest of the people to be the other planets.

What we had to do was, we all had to rotate around the sun just like how in outer space all the other planets orbits the sun.

My experience was fun and it was exciting. It was fun because everyone was laughing and falling on each other by accident.

Week 4 Experience

Solar System Orbit Experience

Do you know the order of the planets in our gigantic! solar system well… We learned from a special song that we sang during pack up time.

First, we got on the mat and watched a video that talks about how Earth orbits around the Sun while rotating.

Mrs Kelly started choosing, who gets to be the sun first and she picks me so I get to sit on a chair while every planet comes one by one.

First comes Mercury (Katalina and Nate) second comes Venus (Manseerat and Roham) third comes Earth (Michelle and Arav) Fourth is Mars (Somriddha and Ananya) soon…

After our experiment it felt so exhausting and boring but at least I learned that the furthest planet from the Sun (Neptune) is the fastest planet but the closest planet from the Sun (Mercury) is the slowest planet of all.

Learning about gravity

Learning about gravity

Yesterday we  learned about gravity. First we miss Ocea put a video about gravity and i learnt that gravity pulls everything  towards therning about centre of the earth  and showed us a also in one of the videos ice   is about Isaac newton  when an apple fell on his head and that was the end  of the video and then miss go to your wilting groups be for you guys go we doing a experiment about gravity so get a light object and a heavy object . My buddy was Robby. The first objects we tested were crok  vs lego and it was the same and second test was a pump bottle vs a piece of cloth the bottle and was first because it was heavier.

Week 2 planting seeds

On Tuesday Kea did an experiment. First we sat in the fale. We watched a video about seeds and how to plant them.

Whaea Ocea’s group talked about how its not the right season to plant lettuce.

We went outside and I got a cup and put dirt inside and put a little bit of water and seeds. And then close it up.

Water cycle recount week 3

First Whaea Kelly did a learning experiment about the water cycle. I learnt that condensation is when the water vapour comes together in the sky it makes clouds. Next my buddy was Azka. First we get a snaplock bag and inside put the water. The inside put blue food colouring. Then we taped the bag to the window.

Week 4 recount – space

On Monday Kea learnt about how planets go around the  sun.

Yesterday we all watched the  Video. We are doing the experiment.

Earth and Moon around the sun. Robby was the sun. I am the Moon. Sham was Saturn. I learnt that the sun is Hot And it is not moving.

Moon is around the Earth. If you look at the sun directly it can damage your eyes. The sun Hot it is in degrees–15,000000 degrees celsius.

Learning planets

On Monday Kea did a solar learning experience in writing time. Miss Ocea put a video on and it was about the sun and how it doesn’t move. Some facts about the sun are that the sun is made with white-hot gas. After the video Miss Ocea said “we are doing a planet dance”. “Miss Ashley’s group stand up and go to waka rua” said  Miss Ocea. Next Miss Ashley asked what planet we wanted to be. Robby was the sun and some of the other kids were the planets and I just watched . Everybody except Robby moved in a circle spinning around Robby. some got dizzy and fell down. All the planets move at different speeds. Some people got to take turns being the sun.

Planet’s writing

We learned about the planet’s. So we watched a video about the planet Venus and the sun. I learned that if the sun disappeared then earth would fall in a Zig Zag and I learned that the sun stays still and the moon takes one month to move around the earth. We learned about planet’s like Venus and earth and also the moon and the sun. We learned about the planet’s in my solar system on my Chromebook with Unity and I finished the activity.

The weather cycle

Yesterday we did a experiment it was about a water cycle. First we got a bag and then we got a felt tip and the had to draw on the bag and we had to go to Whaea Kelly to get the food colouring and then we had to get tape. It was for taping on the wall and one day later today it look like the top of the bag is wet so the experiment works and i love it for me.

Gravity Experiment Week 1

In April we all did space experiments.  Tyrone and I had to get into a group because we are friends.  And we got ice block sticks and counters and dropped it and the counters won. The counters won because they were big. And the ice block sticks lost because they was too little. I hope we all not do that again.
