Our Experience

Have you ever wondered what way the planets go? Well you’re reading the right story. 

Firstly, Miss Ocea shared two videos about the planets in our solar system. Then we started listening and watching  about what we will be doing.

Next Miss Ashley and Whaea Ocea went to their areas. Miss Kelly told us to get into groups of 5 but that didn’t work so instead our whole class did it together. Miss Kelly picked the sun. Then Mercury after Venus and Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn, Then Uranus which was me and someone else. saarah jumped and yelled ME! Then Miss Kelly agreed and told us to run because did you know. Since Uranus was far away from the sun it goes faster so then it can keep up.

Now that all of us have a planet, we can start revolving around Jordan. After a minute it was exhausting than Miss Kelly told us to sit on the mat so she can see whos going to be the next sun and planets Miss told Katalina and someone to be Mercury then Mesepa and Nate to be Venus then Miss just kept picking names an I was Uranus again but my buddy was Manseerat. We only had 9 minutes left so we roamed around quickly and Miss Kelly thought it was entertaining.

This experiment was very informative.

On Monday we did a brainstorm about the Solar System. It was about the Solar System and we had to pretend to be a planet.  I was Mars and Robby was the sun.  Tino was Venus. 

We were spinning around the sun, because we needed to have sunlight, and the other side was night.

For New Zealand sign language week my class so some of our storychat people made a slide show about the deaf education.

WATER EXPERIMENT

On Monday Kea did a Water experiment so Whaea Kelly showed us 2 videos about how rain and water works. If the clouds are getting too heavy it starts raining.

So the things you would need in this experiment “you would need a buddy my buddy was Nate so first you would need plastic bags then you would need a Black marker it doesn’t matter what color you have but make. Sure it’s not a  marker you use for paper you wouldn’t really see your drawing or writing so i think   it’s better when you use a black marker that’s for white boards then after that make sure you get water so maybe like 30% or 20% of water then you need to Go to Mulki or Whaea Ashley or Whaea Kelly. For the Blue food coloring then you had to get tape and then find a window and tape your Ziploc bag on the window but  make sure you zip your bag probably or it Might make the water inside.Might drip when you don’t probably close the zip.

Then after we tapped our Plastic bags on the window we had to wait some days/weeks for it too work and miss Ashley said if it works we might be lucky too take it home if you were done before everyone else Miss Ashley gave us a world find and if you didn’t wanna do The world find miss Ashley putted on hand Writing on the TThis what it looks like This was done 4 days ago and this is how it’s going!

The weather cycle   

Yesterday we did a experiment it was about a water cycle. First we got a bag and then we got a felt tip and the had to draw on the bag and we had to go to Whaea Kelly to get the food colouring and then we had to get tape. It was for taping on the wall and one day later today it look like the top of the bag is wet so the experiment works and i love it for me. 

Yesterday we watched a video about the water cycle. The guy was called Dr. binoculars learned that evaporation is when the sun goes on the ocean like the rain or a puddle and turns it into tiny water droplets. My buddy was Whenua. Condensation is when the water Vapour comes together in the sky it makes clouds get so heavy that it rains if it is really cold snow or hail comes out of the cloud.

In reading, we read and learnt about deaf people back in the days, we also read a book called:Listening Eyes, Speaking Hands.

We learnt that New Zealand’s first school for the deaf was called ´Summer Deaf and Dumb Institution.´´

Back in the days, the word ´´Dumb´´ Was considerd someone couldn’t speak or  Hear.

After that we had to make a timeline of what happened each year. This is my timeline that I created, I hope you like it.

I would like to live in Tonga because in Tonga is with yummy food and yummy juicy drinks. In Tonga theres alot lot of people there that you can play with. But in New Zealand you can play outside but you have no where to play just parks ainstaed of the beach, and you will just get bored. You´ll want to go home but in Tonga when you play in Tonga you´ll stay outside untill night. In New Zealand they dont have the yummy drinks like Tonga and its so fun and the water there is so clean and clear and the beautiful sun sets.

On Monday Kea went outside to experience in the school.  

In the fale Whaea Ocea told us to be in groups of four.  My buddies were Arav, Abrar, Robbie and Arai.  

First we went to the courts.  We went near the hall, then we heard a cicada on the tree.  Then we had to move onto the field.

I saw a cricket jumping and saw flowers in the mara hupara, and wasps at the back of the maunga.

I went to the sand next.  The bell rang because it was playtime.  

It was fun.

The awa trip 

On Tuesday the 1st of april .  missashley in the morning she did the roll once miss Ashely put year 5 and on  right side . of the fale  4n,where on left side of the room . Then miss told the yar  5 to line up at the she told the 6 to wait until they left and we got to out side mis s said look before crossing the road now we walled to the Awa . The is colled te Auaunga the English name is oakley cheek we walk over to the bridge and miss said to wait under the  shade  we all waited  . The first y6 activity was water testing whit nicky she said hello ! We said hi nicky she said water testing is a way to keep animals to safe .Animals can live in clear water same can live in bit of dirty water and  some can live in lost of dirty water .

¨Tristan¨! Here´ said ms Ashley as she calls the roll in a hurry  because today is trip day. ¨Im so excited for the trip.¨

Miss Ashley tell´s us to split into year 5´ and year 6´s 3 lines for year 6´s and 4 lines for year 5´s. Miss Ashley and teachers were busy packing our  lunch for 10 minutes  and Miss Ashley told the year 5´s to line up at the door and told the year 6´s go after them. We went  outside  and went straight to the bridge.

We kept going straight and saw our first activity, The lady. There was talking and explaining the stations they were called PH(blue tube), Cool – thermometer, Clear- water tube 1m, Current – litmus paper, creatures- tubes with water and sediment, plastic spoon, magnifying glass, chart to identify creatures. It was super fun

Next was morning tea we had cheese and crackers with popcorn it really filled me up

Then we picked up rubbish they passed on the gloves take one and pass it on after we took one we got into groups of 5 my group was Katalina, Ivory,Antonia,and Darmonee we go a t a plastic bag and started looking for rubbish it was like a scavenger hunt the first thing we found was a lighter and a can it was really rusty  then we found atleast 3 more lighters it was amusing we found a rat and it gave everyone a frieght everyone was screaming it was like three sirens screaming it gave me a head ache  we all moved somewhere else we heard asanates voice so we all gathered around her and dropped our plastic bag

It was very fun and I really loved the activities

On Sunday morning dad dropped off Timmy to Grandad Rocky’s house for the day.

When Timmy arrived at Grandad Rocky’s house he was feeling sad because he was lonely but then he saw a box that said “family photos. So then Timmy stacked boxes in top of a red wagon to get the box down from the top of the shelf,When he grabbed the box it fell and tumbled down onto the floor.Then when his Grandad walked in because he herd glass crack and the only photo that didn’t crack was a photo of Timmy’s dad and Timmy’s Grandad.

When his Grandad looked at him he asked “do you want to go on an adventure?”.

Firstly they went to the imaginary Jungle,waterfall,space then Grandad turned the wagon into a plane THE END or maybe not Timmy’s dad showed up and called them filthy and dirty. He then looked at Timmy as he sat next to his dads childhood wagon and the they all went on a trip together to the moon THE END
