Hello, today I made an equation to show that you can use Algebra to solve equation that are otherwise incredibly tricky. I solved this simple equation using scales and values. The orange circle is equal to 2 so what would the weight equal?

For math we have beem using polypad, polypad is a website that has all these math types that you can use to learn and  have fun my class was using it to deminstrat how to solve a  algebra equastion. My favourtie part was exploring ploypad and having fun, but my least favourite part was struggling on solving the equastion.

My Video

How would you use polypad?

This week we used poly pad to make and algebraic expression and use screencastify to show how to work it out

The hardest part was remembering how I made mine and how to work it out but hopefully the way I explained it made it easy
for you to try. My favourite part was using poly pad to make different patterns because we got to muck around a bit and
then start creating and using different shapes.Using poly pad made it so easy to make it and it looked so cool when we
put the shapes on the scale and it changed the way the scale looked.

Today on the 8th of Sept 2026, we had a guest Duffy role model, and his name is Justus Leaoseve. Justus Leaoseve is a New Zealand videographer, content creator, and co-founder of We Hate Media! He works alongside major brand personalities, creators, and athletes like:

Today we got our Duffy Books, and a guy named Justus Leaoseve came to our school to tell us about him and how reading helped him with his career. He was a content creator and he had a lot more reading in his job then you’d think and he takes inspiration from books that he’s read sometimes.

It was really cool and the two books I got were Gregor the Overlander, and Restart. They both look like really good books and I’m excited to finish them.

What books did you get? Let me know in the comments ↓

Today we had some people come to our Duffy assembly! They were- Jill and Griam from Avonhead Rotary and Justus as our Duffy remodel.

Justus told us about his job, he is a contact designer (or something). He makes the ads with famous people! Justus works with the Warriors, the All Blacks and the Blues! He told us about the time he went to Tokyo and ate raw horse!
He told us that the weirdest thing he had ever read was frog legs, and that, I thought, was pretty cool because I have eaten frog legs.
But I think I have eaten something cooler and weirder, snail!

Jill and Griam said you grow more knowledge the more you read, which sounded really wise and I know is true.

After I got my Duffy books they are called-

THE FORGOTTEN MAGIC OF ZOE TURNER-

100 MINUTES OF DANGER-

Question: What’s your favourite book? What makes it so good?

Today the whole school and I went to the hall and met a guy named Justus! He works as a content creator. He worked for rugby teams like The Blues, The All Blacks, and The Warriors. He travels all around the world to meet people like the strongest man in Australia and some other influencers. 1 thing he likes to do is read, and I’m not surprised. I love to read too! Another thank you to Avonhead Rotary for getting us these wonderful books! Here are mine. What’s your favourite book?

SHOUT OUT to Jill and Gordon for the books

On the 8th of September 2026 we went into the hall to see this guy named Justus and he inspired lots of us. He wanted us to guess what he does but first we had to guess what the pictures were. The 1st one had three rugby names the All Blacks, and there was the Blues, and the finally the Warriors! Next there were some UFC fighters, and after we got to guess the UFC characters. Then he finally told us what he did for a job. He was a cameraman! BY THE WAY: he has his own company.

THANK YOU AND BYE!!!

Today we got our Duffy books and this awesome guy called Justus he told us about his career he worked with tons of famous boxers rugby players and Youtubers. He is even a content creator himself and I would like to have a big thanks to Avonhead Rotary for paying for our books. Anyway the books I got were Tom Gates What Monster and Goosebumps The Graphic Novel. Have you ever got Duffy books? Here are my Books

So today we got to meet a Duffy Role Model! His name was Justus, and he’s an awesome content creator! He collabed and is friends with The Warriors, Boxers, All Blacks, Blues, UFC, and Youtubers! So cool, right?! And he has travelled to many places, countries, eating some local foods on his videos!                                                                                                    Did you know who gave the Duffy books to this school? They were from Avonhead Rotary Jill, and Gordon! They gave cool, and awesome books Im grateful for that! Anyways my books look intriguing, cool, interesting to read! Here are the beauties!

Hi I found my Duffy books they are

Royal school for Roblox princesses and Ella diaries look below for the front cover!

We had a Duffy assembly and we had a guest called Justus.

During the past week we have been doing Algebra, After a while of practise we finally learned how to figure it out ourselves. Today I am going to show you how to work out a simple equation,

Sorry if its a bit hard to understand or if you don’t get it.

Do you like algebra? Let me know.

This week we have been learning about algebra, and how to figure out what the variable  is. I made I video explaining

Have you learned algebra yet?

For the past few weeks in math, we have been learning Algebra. After a few weeks of learning how to figure it out and solve equations ourselves, we were given the task of explaining it to you guys! We had to use Polypad to create an example of what the equation looks like and show how we can work it out step by step. Then, we went into Google Vids, recorded our screens and audio, and explained what we were doing and how we got our answer.

At first, Algebra can seem pretty confusing, especially when letters start appearing in maths ( I don’t think they belong here hehe ). But once you start to understand what the letters and numbers mean and learn the steps to solve the equation, it starts to make a lot more sense. I’ve tried to explain everything as simply and clearly as I can, so hopefully it’s easy to follow and understand.

Here is my video explanation.

Have you done this kind of Algebra before?

Do you find it easy or hard?

Today on the 8th of September we had to make a video of us explaining how to do an algebra equation and what “a” or “b” (etc) means.
Heres the video!

How did you find algebra when you were learning about it?

Kia Ora,

This week we have been learning all about algebra and scales. We were learning about equal sides and how if one side had subtraction the other side would have addition because thats the opposite. There was this website we used called poly pad which helped us to make our step by step tutorial on how to solve the equation.

Here is my video…

Step By Step tutorial

For the past week we have been watching the movie Wonder. While we watched we did stuff like find the compound words and other stuff. I liked the movie because there was a different perspective. If you want to watch the movie here is the trailer. Here is my review (its kinda blury)

do you want to watch the movie and why?

This week we have been reading the text Clowning Around about a clown doctor who helps stressed kids at starship hospital. For my create me and Anisia made a diorama of Dr u who (the clown doctor) helping some kids. Have you made a dirama? Here are some photos of our work…

Today we did a create of clowning around.Clowning around is a story about clown doctors. Do you want to see mine?

Do you like it?

We have been reading a story called Clowning around we had to do a create about the story  clowning around. My creation was a job interview for clown doctors. do you know what clown doctors are? Clown doctors calm patients down. Have you heard of clown doctors? Here is my creation!
