Today we went to a since road show ( Kate and ) were the people that were teaching us all about since first we got to make a smaller  version of atom every one made it  we also got to keep them . Second we did lots of since with gravitate and magnet force  . Third we did lots with heat and we also saw liquored nitrogen . Last Miss Kenny had to lay on a periodic table. Here is a photo .

Hey, I have been to a really cool science Roadshow that had all sorts of cool things. Graham picked me to help him and I have got a video to prove it, ( it is a bit hard to hear, but if you’re wondering why I acted like someone farted the electricity is because it sounded like it!  ) . FUN FACT there is about 2 – 3 Billion atoms in one full stop WOW ! Bye

Today we got to watch a science show in the hall. It was super cool we made our own atoms we also saw Graham Touched Liquid nitrogen and then he poured it on a person called Jack he poured it on his hand only.

Today my class went to a science roadshow! It was led by a kind lady from the Arts Center called Katey and a gentleman called Graham from the University of Canterbury. The first thing we did was get a glad bag that had some things in it and then we sat down. While we were sitting Graham happened to be waiting for Katey so he showed us a bonus trick which was playing the violin with a small pole. Then Katey arrived, she introduced herself and Graham and she then put on a video explaining the Arts Center and how it used to be Canterbury College where Ernest Rutherford went to. After that Katey then told us that we were going to be making something with the gladbags we got earlier on as we entered. She taught us to make an atom, not a real one but a mockup version of one because you can’t see one in real life in the open unless you get a super fancy complicated one. Now it was time for Graham’s turn! He showed us tricks with all his cool gizmos. The first trick he showed us was a gravity trick where he put a ball over a leaf blower, turned it on and then it started flying. My friend Meila was a volunteer and she had to stand there in a big blue jacket, I didn’t quite understand the concept of her in the jacket but she did get a free periodic table of the elements so I guess it’s a bonus for her! He did many more tricks including liquid nitrogen but then you would be here almost reading a novel at this point… Overall my favourite part was when he poured liquid nitrogen on my friend’s arm Tegan. My teacher also sat on a bed of nails and my fellow classmate Luca stood on him!I really loved this experience and I am super grateful for the opportunity to go and learn about all these cool things. Today we got to go to the Amazing Science road show hosted by Graham and Katey! Katey taught us all about the New Zealander called Ernest Rutherford. He was an amazing person how mandged to split the atom and how he even managed to get on the 100 dollar note! Then they showed us some amazing Science, a lot baced on liquid nitrogen! Things like putting liuquid nitrogen in a air cannon!? Yes They did some crazy things! We then talked about magnets and how gravity works I learnt a lot in that 2 minutes I can’t even name all of them! We then went back to Ernest Walton! And learn’t about atom and how every thing is made of them, even you! Do you think that is crazy, it was all so cool but my favourite was all the luiqud nitrogen! I love that stuff it is pretty impresove that it can freeze anything!

You may or may not know this but the month of October is a very special month; Its world missions month. World Missions Month is the month of October and it leads up to mission Sunday ( the second to last Sunday of October). This morning we had Father Pui the manger of New Zealand Mission Pontifical Societies, came in to talk to us all about what we can do to help, what its all about and how it became a thing.

Father Pui talked a lot about where hes been in the world and we watched a short video of a school who are less fortunate and cant always afford school supplies and clean drinking water. He said that it made him feel for the school and it was his mission to help support them and fund raise them some money for their school.

Today we learnt about Science. The people who showed us about the science their names were graham and Katey. They were really alsom and amazing it was super fun. There were all of the year 5 and 6 but not really all of them. What happened we learnt and saw how to make a cloud with water and Liquid Nitrogen and then one of our class mates had Liquid Nitrgen poured on them which was really cool to see. Then we learnt that you need class if you pure Liquid Nitrgen  or you might get it in your eyes and it can freeze because you have water in your  eyes. Have you ever seen Liquid Nitrgen? Today in the morning right after our classes brain break, we went to go see some people that show different schools of what science is like. When our class was inside the hall we met room 1, in there. After a while a woman came up and introduced herself, (her name was Katy Graham.)  and there was also a man behind me. (his name was Sir Ernest.) Katy played a short video of a school that used to be a place for teenagers (aka college.) once the video ended, she said we will create an atom! If you don’t know what an atom is it is a small particle all around us. As soon as I heard this I was thrilled so were my friends. First we needed a small, wooden bead on a metal, wire. And after that we needed a small white circle, once our class got the white circle we needed to attach it with the wire kind of lIke a knot. when we did that we had to attach a bigger white circle to the wire. then we needed these small fluffy and colorful wire then we needed to attach it around the big circle we had 6 wires 2 on the inside and 4 on the outside. after we finished making our atoms we moved on to sitting down and watch Sir Ernest  explain how magnets only attract if you do it the opposite so if  you put the red part of the magnet on the other red part of the magnet then it would not attract. We watched him wave around the Magnets and talk, for a while.  Then next he took out a leaf blower from the table and picked someone to come up and do an experiment him he chose Maddie (someone not in my class) he then put a jacket on maddie, and I could tell by her face that she was nervous,  Sir Ernest blew maddie with the leaf blower then picked up a little ball and put it on the leaf blower, and then it went up in the air! Everyone wanted to stand on their legs and applaud for him (I think that was just me who wanted to do it.) anyway he showed us lots of cool science things I will list them because I am currently on 387 words now 389. We did a Magnet rail gun Making a cloud and doing things so cool like making the light flicker and finally AFTER 1 HOUR! It was play time.  The End

Today on the 16/10/2026 Father Pui the national Pontifical Mission NZ Rep, Father Pui told us about his visits to the pope in Rome and How he’s met Pope Leo the 14th twice and Pope Francis once. Father Pui helped make the missio NZ box challenge and said that he would love for us to help because there’s always someone doing worse and this money helps them get on track at school and at life.

He talked to us about what Pontifical Mission NZ Rep meant

What it means – an official or regional director acting on behalf of Missio NZ

He talked to us about what words meant and how catholic means universal and every catholic church will welcome you and greet you as an equal. When he was done chatting about his life ,who he is and what things mean we all stood up and took a photo with the cut out of the pope all together.

It was a great time having him come, I hope he comes back sometime because he taught me alot.
