My creative writing term 3 and some week.

Beep Beep Beep. The alarm clock woke Jim up. Jim got out of bed and walked into the kitchen. The floor was cold and cracked. Jim’s feet tingled with pins and needles. He grabbed a small pan and placed it on the stove. Sizzle! He poured the oil onto the pan before grabbing out his metal phone. He unlocked his car using his phone. After eating half a sausage he quickly ran to his car the alarm was going off. He tried to switch it off but it kept screeching. He turned the car off and got in. The seat was burning Jim yelled and smacked his seat ‘’what the heck’’ his pants burned.

3 hours later.

Jim was at work finally. The store had old oil tanks and his rusty car out the front. He waited until someone needed to fuel. Ding ding! The door bell rang and someone had walked in. It was a child holding 5 bucks. His clothes looked old and he had a brown hat with leather falling off it. Jim stared at the child as he roamed the isles. But then Jim noticed the child had a little dart. Jim yelled at the child loudly before almost getting hit by the dart. Jim grabbed the bat from underneath the counter ‘’get back home kid’’ he yelled before throwing the bat at the child. The child laid on the cold itchy floor with stains all over. His eye was swollen and bulged with little cuts dripping blood. The child was filled with rage and sadness. He left the shop stomping the ground and hitting shelves as he screamed and left.

Jim was still processing what happened. The dart was still stuck in the wall; it looked old and poison was dripping and running down the wall. He laid his hands on the cold dart. Steam was rising from it. The minute he laid his hands on the dart it burned. His hand was red and had several scratches. The poison had made its way in. Jim could feel the burning sensation. His nose burned as he sniffed the fumes of the poison. His eyes went watery and red. His stomach growled. He laid his hands on the wall and tried to reach the phone but he was unlucky the poison went faster than anything. It would reach his brain in no time. His body fell and when he landed dust glided around. His skin started to steam with poison as he laid on the floor. The last thing he saw was the dart stuck in the wall.

20 days earlier.

Jim was in the city. He walked towards a tall building. The words out the front of the building were ‘’Old Doctors’’ he slowed down as he approached the door. People rushed around inside the building. He could hear slamming doors, people screaming in phones and trays being slammed into walls. Jim pushed his hand slowly against the door. Crash! He hit a woman rushing over to another office ‘’I’m terribly sorry!’’ he said before moving on. The woman had a mark on her head from the impact ‘’ow,’’ she cried. Jim approached a child wearing a cap that looked as if it was his fathers. Jim bent down and came face to face with the small child ‘’is that your mother?’’ he said before pointing to the woman crying. The child showed Jim a dart ‘’Yes’’.

This is my story in case you don’t already know.

And yes I am doing this to be very distracting and annoying.

Just giving you extra to read.

Okay stop reading this text now.

listen please.

just stop already.

Week 3-4 Creative Writing

My goal is to use sensory details to enhance my writing. Hope you like my story

As me and my crew put the last of the stuff into the ships we set sail for Bermuda triangle and that it would take us about 9 days of rough waters the first few days were a blur of looking at maps, eating and obliging to the captions commands about getting him status reports on where we were and the number of supplies we had left when i told him that we were low on our 5th day “ boss we only have enough supplies to last one more day” I whispered “if you don’t fix this your dead” yelled caption. On the fifth day a huge storm hit and flipped our ship. Everyone was hurrying to find the extra boats and save as many supplies as possible. Me and some others passed out and woke up on a rocky beach. As we were exploring we found a cave and headed inside. It felt like we were walking for an hour until one of the survivors found a flight of ancient stairs made of limestone that were so fragile that if you looked at them wrong they would collapse. We went down and found this massive stone head the guy behind us must of set of a trap then the head was like a giant vacuum and sucked us in to this massive tunnel that to us to Atlantis city as we were going down there was horrific scent that smelt of sulphur and rotten fish and this screaming sound when we got down the tunnel some of the guys tried to climb out but as they slid down a hole opened up and they fell in so i was the only one left to explore the lost city that was in algae mess.

Doom days: The last outpost Week 3 Goal: Punctuate dialogue correctly.

It was 3719 and the ruined city of Reykjavík wasn’t a very desirable place to live, but it was the place to live if you wanted the sun. “You see, robots were ravaging the world, they wanted a world only for robots. You may want an explanation for all this so i’m gonna give you one.

One day someone called Donald Trump III was like ‘uga uga oogh me want a big army of cool robots to do my stuff for me, like exercise, brush my teeth and walk everywhere!’

‘Yes sir’ said his scientists ‘we’ll be right on it’ and then they went into the secret lab. They worked on his army for two years before they had even programmed them. When they had finished the robot’s body they had a lunch break and then got to work on the robot’s brains. After one week of work they ran into a problem, the robots they had finished were trying to destroy each other! ‘Hey break it up!’ Saiud one of the workers

‘must destroy’ came the answer of one of the fighting robots

‘Hey we never programed you to talk’ called the worker

‘Well me got infected by an evil virus and learned, also me want to kill world’ than he grabbed a limp bot and held it in two hands, soon bolts of electricity wour courcing through the smaller robot then it opened its eyes and began to grow. This happened with all the robots until all of them were infected by the virus ‘oh crip’ said one scientist

‘Same here’ repeated the other scientists ‘well at least we don’t have to work on them any more.’

So now you know why the robots were evil, you must want to know what is happening in the present. Well I have three words for you:                        TO, BE, CONTINUED.

(Ps, I probably won’t continue it).

Week 3 & 4

My goal was to use figurative language in my writing

Glurpol didn’t like his new job very much, it was as horrible as his last, maybe even worse! His last job had been cleaning toilets in a posh house owned by the duke of Easton, it had been gross because the Duke was prone to serious diarrhoea, so he had left that job only to find the one job available, was cleaning royal soldiers’ gross feet! When he saw it he thought it can’t be as bad as cleaning the duke’s toilets, but it was much much worse! He wasn’t just cleaning any soldier’s feet, he was cleaning the ogre army’s feet! They were the best soldiers in all of Kridel! They were as slow as sloths, but as strong as saltwater crocodiles which made them great for frontline battles against the neighbouring Kingdom called cruven Empire, Glurpol didn’t mind having to stay in the army basecamp, it was nice and provided him a place to sleep, but the ogres feet stunk so bad, if they took off their boots the other soldiers around them would faint from the horrid smell, it was as bad as cow dung! On glurpols very first day, he was handed a bucket, a cloth, and a peg for his little blue nose! His first ogre of the day was brave Billy, the best ogre in all the land! He sat down and looked around in his bag for something, he didn’t talk much just watched as glurpol cleaned his stinky feet.

Red Nose Day

On Friday 31st July it was Red Nose day at school. Red Nose day is a fundraising appeal for Cure Kids, raising money for vital child health research into conditions like childhood cancers, stillbirth, inherited heart defects, and Sudden Unexpected Death in Infants. We were able to dress in red if we could or wear mufti and bring a gold coin which we send to Cure Kids.

We looked great dressed up, but by golly it’s very hard for our teacher to get a photo of us all looking the right way!! She said we are a good looking bunch. Hip, hip, hooray – 3 cheers for Cure Kids.

A Gentle Start to Term 3

We’ve had a lovely, gentle start to Term 3, easing back into familiar routines and some of Nevaeh’s favourite everyday activities.

Nevaeh continues to enjoy working on her sorting and matching skills, and each morning she helps set up her day alongside Olivia and Jackie. This is helping to build her understanding of time awareness by updating the date and arranging the visual schedule. Looking through the photos of the day’s activities and placing them on the wall gives Nevaeh a clear plan for the day ahead and helps her feel prepared and ready for what’s to come.

There’s always plenty of opportunities for drawing, colouring, and creating artwork. These creative moments continue to be a good way for Nevaeh to express herself while developing her fine motor skills.

Music, as always, has been a highlight of the week. This morning, Nevaeh shared a beautiful jam session with Marilyn. One of her favourite moments is when Marilyn plays the guitar, giving Nevaeh the chance to improvise alongside her. It’s always a joy to see her confidence and creativity shine through during these musical experiences.

We’re also looking forward to an exciting term ahead! Next week, Nevaeh will be joining a drum circle with her peers, and later in the term we have outings planned to the museum and the Kiwi Centre. We’ll continue our weekly visits to the library whenever the weather allows, and Friday afternoons will include peer reading sessions in the classroom.

As the weather begins to warm up, we’re hoping to enjoy a group outing to Lake Mahinapua, with a special stop at the local pub where Nevaeh can spend some time playing their piano…a treat we know she’ll love :).

Wow, Weka Iti were left a lovely surprise!!

When Mrs Scott arrived at school on a cold morning she saw that a small parcel had been left on the doorstep by the entrance to our class. She picked it up and noticed there was a beautiful pink egg wrapped in a paper towel with a pink shiny ribbon tied around the middle and a letter. The letter read…..

She took the egg inside and placed it in the warm classroom. Mrs Scott was very eggcited to read it to her lovely students who all began thinking what on earth was inside that pink egg. Here is a photo of our class with the egg. Can you spot it?

We then followed the instructions.

Firstly we wrote what we thought was inside the egg. Take a read of our predictions.

Next we placed the egg carefully in the water and waited patiently to see what was going to hatch. Here is the egg in the water when it hatched.

We were still a little confused about what was inside the egg….Can you work it out?

Take a look at what hatched out. It’s an orange……PENGUIN! Welcome to Weka Iti little penguin.

Term 2’s 2026 Weather Graph

Each morning when we do the daily calendar we have been tracking the weather. We filled out a graph for the Weather in Term 2. At the end of the term we looked at our graph and made some statements on what our graph showed. We found……
* there were 20 sunny days during the term.
* 10 days began in the morning with sun and cloud.
* 11 days were cloudy.
* we had 8 days of rain.
* there was only 1 windy morning.
* we had more sunny days than any other weather,
* we filled out the weather graph for 50 days.
* that the weather changes during the day so this is not an accurate picture of the weather for the whole day. Sometimes the day started off sunny but was raining by the end of the day.

Take a look at our graph.

Next term we are going to complete another weather graph. We are wondering if the weather will be similar, the same or look different. What do you think?

And that’s a wrap on term 2!

What a wonderful way to finish the term!

On Thursday, Nevaeh had the special opportunity to take Jackie to visit All Saints Church and play the beautiful pipe organ. She knew exactly why she was there and confidently swung her leg over the organ stool like a seasoned musician! After spending around half an hour exploring the instrument, it was lovely to see how much progress she has made. This time, rather than simply exploring the keys, Nevaeh was applying the piano skills she has been learning with Marilyn, proudly playing two of her favourites, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and Mary Had a Little Lamb on the church organ. It was a wonderful moment to witness and a testament to how far she has come.

Back in class, Nevaeh continues to enjoy spending time with Olivia, building on her colour recognition and fine motor skills through fun, engaging activities. She also loves adding a little extra sparkle with the sensory disco ball while making music, singing along to her favourite songs, and enjoying musical moments with her classmates.

We are so proud of Nevaeh’s progress this term and the confidence she continues to show. We hope everyone has a safe, restful break, and we look forward to seeing you all back at the start of Term 3!

02/07/26

My goal was to write in paragraphs

I didn’t finish my story

I had lived in this tower all of my life, with Grayson and Julie. They raised me since birth in this little gray tower, in the pink forest of forgetting.

Everyday was the same, get up, help Julie cook breakfast and fold the washing, then, my favourite part of the day, going foraging with Gray and Squaker, my magnificent eagle who followed me everywhere I went. But I could not stay here all my life, unlike Julie and Gray who were content with living this simple life,

I wanted more, I wanted to take back my Kingdom of Brekya, and someday I would, but first I needed to convince my protectors, Grayson and Julie that I was capable of looking after myself.

I was a forgotten princess as Julie liked to say, because when the Istetis Empire had invaded the Brekya Kingdom The King, my father had given me to his most trusted servant, Grayson, and his wife, Julie.

My twin, Lucy Harchester had been taken to the Doreren Kingdom well the Worst War in the history of Yesea went on for 4 years, 7 months, 2 weeks and 3 days. I knew that number so well because at the age of 5 when I had been told by my dear father, the king, to listen to Grayson and his wife, no matter what happened until, he came to take me back. I remember his words like yesterday,

“ Avery, you must listen to Grayson, he’s the best man I have ever known and when this war is over and our kingdom has won, I will come and get you from the gray tower in the pretty pink forest you love.” Soon I realised that the real name of this forest is The forgotten forest.

Creative writing weeks 10-11

In the dusk days of 1939 the builders and inventors of Italy were experimenting by building different kinds of robots to help for battle in war as the army was struggling and needed assistance.

They started off by building tiny robots that were hard for enemies to see, once they detected an enemy base they would self-destruct and blow up. The distance of the destruction went up to a kilometer away.

After the inventors had sent hundreds of robots to the battle they waited to hear the results from the army. The inventors started planning a design for a backup robot. They decided to make it 4 feet tall and have indestructible metal armour so the enemy’s bullets would bounce back off the armour. Using the enemy’s weapon as their own would be unexpected for the enemies.

“These robots were a great success, but the enemies moved bases after a few weeks, now the robots can’t reach them.” Read Joe, the manager of the robot making.

“Build and send out the new robots!” Commanded Joe, the team scurried off to their stations to build the different parts of the robots. After the robots were finished the testers had to see if they worked. So the testers shot a bullet and quickly ducked behind a brick wall for safety.

After they waited a few seconds they went around to see the robot had deflected the bullet into the wall with not even a scratch on the robot.

“What are we waiting for then, send the new robots!” Demanded Joe.

Once they heard back from the army the results were winning the war.

Week 10/11 Creative Writing

My goal is to use words for a dictionary heres my story.

It’s 2075 me, Ava and Millie are hiking on mars the earth imploded with poison gas and mars has clean air. I’m ahead of the group “ hurry up you guys!” I yelled back “were going to be late to the heist”

“We’ll be fine” wined Ava

“The boss won’t care” Milie persuaded “ he’s an old hag anyway” muttered Millie. A mini tornado of hot air pushed us back blocking our vision with a thick layer of sand on our goggles I heard a big thump then Ava yelling

“I’m good!” then  “hey guys there’s a massive helicopter coming towards us”. Turns out it was just a gigantic bug that is going to be a long hike with Ava’s concussion and Millie being too laid back. Lets just hope the bosses new job customers aren’t too fussy and the job won’t be gruesome.

“Wait up Sophie you’re too fast” a random voice yelled. I looked behind me and saw Tara sprinting towards me once she caught up and everyone else to their slow time. She explained that the boss was retiring and wanted  to give the whole operation to his most loyal sycophants.

“See guys there was nothing to worry about” Millie says in a relaxed tone

“So we walked all the way out here for nothing” wined Ava apparently he was give the operation to Sophie

“ guys lets go home and rule desert”.

Week 10 & 11 Creative Writing

For the last two weeks I have been working on my creative writing. My goal was to use a thesaurus to come up with intresting vocabluary.

Do you think I achieved my goal?

Mary darted between the trees, snatching glances of the house in the clearing. She lifted her nose and sniffed the air, there was a delicious aroma drifting off of the house.

Small clusters of glowing red flowers were scattered amongst the roots of the trees.

Mary stilled behind a tree as she heard the door open. She peeked around the edge of the tree and jolted back. There was a woman standing in the doorway looking right at her. “Hello sweetheart!” She called out, gesturing for her to come out to her.

Mary hesitated for a second before cautiously stepping out from behind the tree. The woman smiled warmly. Mary slowly approached the woman and they walked together towards the house.

“So, what brings you here?” the woman asks. Smiling down at Mary. Mary stuttered, not expecting the question. “Um,” The woman continued smiling down at Mary, expecting an answer. After an awkward second they arrived at the door.

“Welcome in. I just baked some fresh cookies, would you like some?” The woman gestured for Mary to come inside. Mary hesitated again before stepping into the little cottage.

As soon as she stepped inside she got enveloped in what felt like a huge warm hug. She snapped out of her trance suddenly as the door clicked shut behind her.

The pair walked into a warm, cosy kitchen. Mary’s eyes widened as her nose filled with the delicious aroma of freshly baked cookies. A small pile of chocolate chip cookies sat on a plate on the kitchen counter.

“Help yourself.” The woman told Mary and gestured at the plate.

Mary rushed over and stuffed a cookie into her mouth. The delicious dough melted in her mouth. Mary gobbled the whole plate down in a few minutes. She suddenly became aware that the woman was staring at her.

“Sorry,” she said through a mouthful of cookies.

The woman smiled, “It’s okay. I already have another batch baking.” Mary yawned, suddenly aware how tired she was. The woman noticed.

“Come with me, sweetheart. I have a nice warm bed for you to stay in!” Mary nodded sleepily, obediently following her into a cosy, warm bedroom. She lay down on the bed and sank down, into the warm sheets. The woman tucked her in and in seconds Mary was fast asleep.

The woman smiled down at Mary sleeping and went to sit on her chair in the corner, waiting for her to wake up.

Mary was fast asleep, stuck in dreams of cookies and strange houses in the woods. She heard a sound, it sounded like people creeping around her. At first she thought it was just in her dreams but she grew more uneasy by the second. She woke up, panting and sweaty.

The first thing she saw was the woman, sitting in the armchair in the corner of her room. The woman was staring right at her. Mary scrambled up in bed, trying to get away from the woman. She jumped up and raced out the door, trying to find a way out. She could hear footsteps pounding behind her.

Finally after what seemed like an age she found the front door. Bursting through it she started spriting towards the woods. She glanced back as she rounded the first tree, the woman was standing at the door, grinning creepily.

Mary looked forward again and decided to never come back here again.

My creative writing week 11

Bzz! Bzz! Sparks flew up into the air. ‘’How much longer?,’’ Bot asked ‘’days, months, more’’

Replied AI.

Bot was on a massive power pole in the sky and he had to finish the job within a day.

Bot kept climbing higher and higher ‘’almost there’’

‘’Take your time’’

‘’Im trying’’.

Bot sat his foot on a tiny metal chunk his foot was slipping but he kept climbing higher.

AI was metres above him. Bot looked down ‘’whoa!’’ his eyes felt like they were zooming out of his face ‘’jeez we’re pretty high up’’. AI looked down as well ‘’agreed’’. The wind was powerful up there and both had to be careful. Suddenly a massive ship started to fly past Creak! It struggled to move ‘’how you guys do”. The robot’s  voice was cut off as the ship started to fly away. They had given Bot and AI a tool crate. They both peeked under the top board ‘’hmm?’’. AI lifted the lid and he stuck his face underneath ‘’aah!’’. He screamed Bot quickly pulled him out ‘’what, what is it?’’ Bot said confused ‘’wire!’’. They were happy they actually have tools now and can get the job finished. Bot climbed up to a small box that had rust covering it. AI passed Bot some tools and they both slowly opened the box. Inside was a small fuse with cracks all over. It had a faint glow and all the other fuses were lifeless. Bot grabbed all the broken fuses and threw them into a small box AI was holding.

Smack! The boss hit his desk with anger. His eyes were filled with red and rage ‘’what’s taking them so long?!’’. He screamed and yelled, shaking his chair. He lived inside a rusty old office, he wanted that to change, he wanted to be a billionaire. He held his pen tight in his hands and wrote the day away. His hands were aching from all the writing, he kept going. ‘’Yes finally!’’ he scrunched up the letter and smacked it into the pipe.

Swoosh! The letter was dropped off at the radio tower ‘’news!’’ AI grabbed it with his cold rusty hand. He opened the letter and flattened it out. He scanned word by word until he knew why the letter was here. He quickly shouted to Bot to work faster, handing him all sorts of tools. Bot was struggling ‘boss will kill us!’’ He grabbed a laser and zapped the box away. It was freezing and the laser was flickering, giving up. The computer turned on to reveal the boss’s face ‘’hurry up!’’ he screamed. AI tried giving boss answers but it wasn’t enough. Bot threw a wrench on the computer shutting it ‘’hey!’’ AI wasn’t very happy but neither was the boss.

The boss was angry. Really angry. His coffee was cold and had been sitting for days straight. He picked it up hoping for a sip. Nothing. He opened up the old rusty computer and rebooted the system. He couldn’t restart it. ‘’No!’’ he yelled and began smashing his metal fists onto the top and sides of the computer. It glitched and began showing code. The metal titan grabbed the computer and smashed it onto his solid spiked knee. It snapped in half he yelled before grabbing the two halves and clamped them onto the sides of his head.

Clank! Bot dropped the wrench before falling to his knees ‘’it’s over’’ he said with a soft voice. AI looked in the direction Bot was looking. There was a massive ship with cannons all over. AI picked up a small box and threw it off the side of the tower. He stared at the

massive ship. Its cannons started to glow and make a loud rumble. It charged up and made a low rumbling sound. It kept going, getting brighter and louder. Until. Boom! A giant burst of flames consumed the tower. The boss watched and smiled ‘’I’ll sell the tower then’’. He grabbed the broken computer and stitched it up ‘’alright should be fixed enough’’. He plugged the broken cord into the broken wall and flicked the broken switch. The computer booted up and made a high pitched squealing noise screeeeeeeeech! ‘’Ow stop stop, James U-P-L-U-G I-T!!!’’. James the mini bot quickly jumped over to the switch and he, and he missed. James hit the floor and snapped the cord entirely. The cord flung up and smacked the boss in the nose “James!’’ he yelled until the roof collapsed. James escaped but the boss did not. Suddenly the boss rose from the pile of rubble and he had a cord stuck to his face ‘’alright James Y-O-U A-R-E -F-I-R-E-D!!!’’.
